Interracial couples at all-time high

(Erica Stanley NYC 2017) Interracial couples, specifically African-American men and white women, are at an all-time high. Data collected from various outlets and sources, from FBI records to census reports, have revealed information showing a steady increase of interracial relationships of varying degree. The most dramatic increase occurring in 2016.

In surveys taken on random college campuses throughout the United States, white female students were asked if they are currently, aspire to be, or have ever been in an interracial relationship with an African-American male. The results of the surveys failed to surprise some analysts. Rob Pricer, an African-American from Kentucky and a sociological researcher from the Mount Zion Sociological Institute, was one of those analysts. “From the information we obtained from (the female students), two out of three girls had already had some type of relationship with a black male”. The numbers were an average compiled from nation-wide data. “The increase comes at a time when tensions between blacks and whites is on a rise”, Pricer added.

College students were not the only ones surveyed. Kimberly Judd, a 42 year old white female from Nebraska and a seasoned bartender for a popular international restaurant, was selected by researchers to compile information on the opinions of her customers ages 21-45 regarding interracial relations. Judd traveled throughout 17 major U.S. cities over the course of one year compiling data for the study. “I wasn’t surprised at all” she smiled. “Being white and married to an African American myself, I was really curious to find out what other girls thought”. Her results reflected the same surge as Pricer’s. In one year’s time, Judd had compiled answers from 11,238 adult white women. From that number 9,842 woman had answered as to having been in some sort of sexual relationship with a black male or expressed a strong interest in having a sexual relationship soon.

“African American men are rapidly becoming the new face of the American man”, Pricer concluded in a phone interview last Spring. “Fifty years ago we were rejected. But, now we’re being seen as sex symbols among all of these white women”.
